Castle Huntly is believed to have been built around 1452 and is a Category A Listed Building. The castle came under state ownership in 1946 and became one of only two open prisons in Scotland in 1995.
While being a secure unit and therefore requiring the same standard of vigilance on site, extra care had to be taken with this installation due to the main buildings listed status which differentiated it from our other prison projects.
