Until early 2009, no major manufacturer had been able to supply and warrant a Damp Proof Membrane System which could be applied on top of an anhydrite screed (which is adversely affected by water) permitting floor coverings to be installed.

Harndec were able, with the assistance of one of the major manufacturers, to make the Kirkintilloch Care Facility project one of the first where it was possible to use a DPM System over an anhydrite screed.
